CHAIR

SARAH MACDONALD

Sarah is the official spokesperson of the Community Council and represents the Council when dealing with outside bodies.

SECRETARY

 LYNDA MCGIVERN

Lynda is responsible for compiling the agenda for meetings; and taking, copying and distributing minutes. She also answers correspondence and liaises with officials. She also looks after public relations ,maintains social media on behalf of the community council.

Jim Watson

Jim's role is to contribute to meetings on behalf of the local community and represent the views and opinions of local residents.

Jim is also part of a four person sub group who deal specifically with issues relating to the housing development at Bangour Village.

Vicki's role is to contribute to meetings on behalf of the local community and represent the views and opinions of local residents

PLANNING OFFICER

VACANT POSITION

The Planning Officer receives the weekly list of planning applications listed in the local area and then ascertains whether they raise issues of local interest. They should also check planning applications in adjacent areas in case they impact on the local area 

The person who takes on this role role will represent the views and opinions of teenagers and young people in the village,and bring these to the attention of the community council members.

The Vice Chair stands in for the Chair when they are unable to attend monthly meetings.

 

The Vice Chair supports the Chair in their role and takes over some of the workload when necessary or when asked.

TREASURER and

BANGOUR SUB COMMITTEE MEMBER

 IAN FERREL

Ian's Treasurer role involves responsibilities relating to the financial operation of the community council, for receipt and banking of the annual grant; issuing all cheques and making payments on behalf of the community council. She must keep proper accounts of all receipts and expenditure and prepare an Annual Statement of accounts. 

Ian is also part of a four person sub group who deal specifically with issues relating to the housing development at Bangour Village.

Greg Colhoun

Greg's role is to contribute to meetings on behalf of the local community and represent the views and opinions of local residents.

BANGOUR SUB-COMMITTEE

Bangour Sub-committee consists of 4 members it was formed specifically to deal with matters associated with the housing development known as 'Bangour Village'  which is adjacent to Dechmont Village.

The community council is continually working to support the needs of the local community therefore we welcome feedback, comments and participation from any residents of Dechmont who would like to contribute. Please contact us if you have any concerns relating to  matters which affect the local community.

 

Unfortunately, due to current Covid 19 restrictions it is not possible to hold face to face meetings but rest assured that we are continuing to address any matters arising relevant to Dechmont Village.
